A Few Examples Of My Exhibits

In 1996 I had an exhibit in the Lancaster Municipal Museum titled Antelope Valley Goes to the Polls. It spanned from 1789 to 1972. The election of 1972 was chosen as the cut off date because in the election of 1976 Bob Dole was Gerald Fords running mate. Since Bob Dole was running for President in 1996 it was decided not to have anything that might suggest that the museum was advocating one candidate that year over another. It was a thrill to fill up the 3000 square foot museum and the staff made it memorable. The exhibit ran from October 19 to December 1 and corresponded with the election that was taking place. Just prior to the opening I was interviewed on the local TV stations civic program and I gave a talk during the opener as well. Campaign songs played in the background of the exhibit and campaign commercials from Ike to Nixon ran continuously on a monitor.
